About GIS Data

The river linework used by ADBNet for maps is based on the US Geological Survey's National Hydrography Dataset (NHD). This data can be accessed through the Iowa DNR's geospatial REST services.

Locations for Lakes, reservoirs, and wetlands are stored as point locations approximating the centroid of the waterbody, using the WGS84 projection.
